This is an action I made today after really studying LAB and RGB channels. I hope you all enjoy it.
A couple of things that I have to point out first though.
This is EXPERIMENTAL, so don't expect it to look amazing. It is simply meant to boost details as if it was an HDR photograph.
Secondly, there shouldn't be too much of a color jump. Colors should be brighter, but similar to your original colors. Shadows and highlights will be heavily adjusted though.
When the action completes, you will have two layers. The bottom-most layer is the detailed layer, the layer on the top is the original image. If you want to revert back to the original image, simply turn on the visibility of the top layer, and flatten the image.
The original layer is also left there so you can adjust it's opacity to adjust the amount of detail left by the effect.
This is wonderful! I love that the original layer is still there so that I have total control over the harshness (or softness) or the HDR effect! Thank you so much for this!
I was playing around and realized that the original layer definitely needed to be there just to make sure that the image doesn't get trashed. I'm glad you like it! Have fun!
